Hello. My name is Deniece Barnes. I am the Hostess of DIFFERENCES Radio Magazine Show, produced by Crosswind Media Advertising. DIFFERENCES is the "jazzy" radio magazine show that keeps my listeners
"in the know" about Entertainment, Health, Food, Fashion, Lifestyle and Community Affairs. DIFFERENCES recently aired on WMDB 880 AM, "The Big Mouth" http://www.880amthebigmouth.com/ Before WMDB radio, DIFFERENCES Radio Magazine Show aired on Nashville's Heritage Station AND the station where Oprah Winfrey began her broadcasting career as a part-time news reporter, WVOL 1470 AM. I am also a Television Personality. I am the co-host of NECAT Channel 19's Styles & Profiles with Hostess, Dorothy Petway. I am a native of Ripley, TN. I attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN where I majored in Mass Communication and Theatre. I began my career in media and broadcasting in the early 1990's as an Advertising Assistant to the Director of Sales and Advertising with The Nashville, PRIDE, a minority owned newspaper publication. I went on to become the co-host of "Employment Talk Live" radio show which aired daily on WNSG AM in Cummins Station, Nashville, TN. During my tenure in this position, my duties included interviewing HR Directors, Staffing Managers, etc regarding vacancies within their companies. This was the beginning of my broadcasting career! In early 2008, I joined WVOL 1470 AM in Nashville, TN. I was given the opportunity to produce, schedule and conduct live interviews for a daily talk show and performed back and forth dialogue with on-air callers about local and national news. 2008 was quite a memorable year for me! With my noted political interviewing background, I have had the opportunity to land interviews with some of today's top newsmakers including, then TN. Democratic Chairman, Gray Sasser and then TN. Republican Chairwoman, Robin Smith, CNN Political Analyst/Tom Joyner Show Analyst/Author and host of TV One's Washington Watch, Roland Martin. I also have very close ties with our current President, Barack Obama and have also had the honor of meeting him! I am the Publicist for Yvonne Lloyd of "Obama's Mamas". Yvonne served on the Board of Directors for Chicago's Developing Communities Project (DCP) the organization that hired Obama as a Community Organizer on Chicago's Southside and is also the basis for the character "Shirley" in his first book, "Dreams From My Father". I am also a Humanitarian and a mentor. I serve on the Board Of Directors for J.E.W.E.L.S., a non-profit organization. Our mission is to provide a distinctive program that maximizes the girls' personal development by offering them a place to talk, to be heard, to express themselves and to envision their full potential in lfie. I firmly believe in my community motto: WE MUST SAVE OUR YOUTH! I have two grown children, Ashley and Robert and one grandson, Ashdon. I am engaged to Sedgewick Lloyd, CEO of Crosswind Media Advertising. So now, sit back, relax and get rejuvenated on DIFFERENCES with Deniece Barnes. Connect with me and continue to stay "in the know"
